The Artist

Dawn Hartman (she/her/hers) is a Pittsburgh-based photographer born and raised in Philadelphia and Reading, PA. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Psychology. Dawn’s 3 driving passions are photography, traveling, and service work. She has visited 8 countries around the world in pursuit of these passions, and her most recent trip was to Ghana, Africa, as a volunteer with a primary school. It was through an effort to raise funds for this Ghana trip that The Intimacy Project was born.

The Intimacy Project’s success has been achieved through a great deal of support from the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in Pittsburgh. This has manifested largely in the form of word of mouth about Dawn’s abilities as a photographer. Since the conception of the project, Dawn has transitioned from photography as a hobby to supporting herself completely with her craft.
