Intimacy Is

Intimacy is noticing how the things you once thought of as faults have become endearing quirks that make him special to you.

Intimacy is not feeling it is a bother when he asks for a massage, but opening yourself to enjoying the feel of his skin, getting more out of it than he is.

Intimacy is not needing to say you are sorry but saying it anyway and really meaning it.

Intimacy is getting used to the odd noises and snorts he makes, not being annoyed but actually missing them when you are apart.

Intimacy is making him secure in knowing he can tell you anything but being okay if he chooses to discuss it with a friend instead.

Intimacy is viewing those extra pounds as new territory to explore.

Intimacy is watching his favorite, inane movie for the umpteenth time, marveling at how much enjoyment he can still get from it.

Intimacy is when there is no other sound you want to hear more than his familiar chuckle.

And Most of All –

Intimacy is learning to allow him to love in the way he knows how, not in the way you thought it was necessary for him to love you.
